Project Red: OPI Royal Rajah Ruby

Pulling out an oldie from a few years back...  OPI Royal Rajah Ruby was released in spring 2008, part of the India collection.  It's a blackened ruby red with red micro-shimmer.  I love vampy colors, so it's no wonder that I couldn't resist this beautiful ruby version.

The red shimmer may be difficult to detect from a distance, and not as noticeable to most, but I still find the color stunning nonetheless.

Royal Rajah Ruby really shines under bright lighting, so it's one of those colors that may be considered almost-black in most lighting.

In some lights, I detected a hint of "warmth" to the color, having a very autumn vibe to it.  Royal Rajah Ruby is definitely well suited for fall and winter.

While I thought this was a color well suited for the India collection, I did find it a bit odd for it to be released for spring.  For spring, I imagined lighter shades, and not so much dark colors.  But I'm not complaining since I do love my dark vampy colors.  The formula on it was okay.  If you wait enough time between coats, you should be able to get even coverage with 2 coats.  I ended up doing 3 because I got some bald spot due to my inpatient nature.
